TikTok has become one of the most popular video-sharing platforms in India over the last few years for a lot of creators and viewers. But with its growth, we have seen a lot of controversies as well.
Lately, TikTok creators have been involved in a feud against YouTube creators in a new ‘YouTube vs TikTok’ trend. YouTuber CarryMinati in response to it made a video roasting TikTok creator Amir Siddiqui and TikTokers in general. The video went viral and it became the most liked non-music video in India but later was removed by YouTube, which has taken the controversy to new heights. Fans of the YouTuber have become enraged, as a result of which we are seeing hashtags like #BanTikTok and #BringBackCarryMinatiYoutubeVideo trending on Twitter.
The video-sharing platform TikToks future remains uncertain as the app is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. Recently, a TikTok creator by the name of Faizal Siddiqui came under scrutiny for posting a video allegedly promoting acid attacks on women. We have also seen the rating of the app drastically fall from 4.5 to just 2.0 within just two days.
Looking at the latest ratings on the Play Store, majority of the rating in the last two days is a 1-star rating for the app. Surprisingly, the app still has a 4.2 rating on the iOS App Store in India.
